Invoking

Select a LiveDocs corpus in the LiveDocs pane of the Resource console or Project home. In the document list of the selected corpus, select the first monolingual document, then press and hold down Ctrl, and select the second monolingual document. Below the document list, click the Link documents command link.

Note: The Link documents command link is available only when two monolingual documents are selected, in two different languages.

Options

· Under Which is the source language?, memoQ displays the languages of the two selected documents. One of those will be the source language: click the radio button for the intended source language.
· Under What should memoQ do…?, there are two check boxes:
o Remove source document: If you select this, memoQ removes the source-language document from the corpus when it creates the alignment pair from the two documents. This is not selected by default.
o Remove target document: If you select this, memoQ removes the target-language document from the corpus when it creates the alignment pair from the two documents. This is selected by default.

Note: When you link two documents, memoQ creates a new alignment pair in the LiveDocs corpus. However, the original documents also remain in the corpus. With these check boxes, you can remove one or both of the original documents when the alignment pair is created.

Navigation

Click OK to link the selected documents, and create a new alignment pair in the LiveDocs corpus. Click Cancel to close the dialog without making changes.
